ArtRadarAsia list of China’s biggest-selling artists

The Chinese contemporary art publication ArtRadarAsia has put together a list of this year’s biggest-selling artist in Asia, based on the Artprice Annual Report 2009/2010. All artist, except Chen Zhen and World’s number 7 Chen Yifei, who sold  for € 8, 880, 726 this year, are living artists. Among China’s top-sellers are some of the most renowned masters of Chinese contemporary art, such as Zeng Fanzhi, Yue Minjun, Zhao Xiaogang and Wang Guangyi. But also younger artists can be found among the most sought-after: With only 37 years, Li Songsong ranks 58 in the list of the World’s biggest-selling artists. Media stars and new media artists such as Gao Brothers, Ai Weiwei, Xu Zhen or Yang Fudong are not among the top-sellers. Continue reading »
